The Dept. of Multimedia IT Engineering was established in 1990 and reorganized as the Dept. of Computer Information Processing. The name of the department was then changed to the Dept. of Computer Science in 2003, and then the Dept. of Computer Information Processing in 2005. Due to the integration of Wonju University and Gangneung-Wonju University in 2007, it was further reorganized into the Dept. of Multimedia Engineering in 2010.

We offer practical education to train information processing and multimedia experts to obtain essential characteristics of computers and multimedia. Multimedia technology is rapidly developing in line with the Internet. As the multimedia contents industry is activated, the quality of the content will be a measure of cultural level. We aim to enable students who can lead the borderless and infinite competition society.
